The Revivalists are an eight-piece American rock band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2007 by singer/songwriter frontman David Shaw and guitarist Zack Feinberg. The duo will be performing at JusticeAid’s Voices to Protect the Vote online May 18th concert in support of Election Protection and the 866-OUR-VOTE coalition hotline.
The chart-topping rock band is renowned for its live firepower, soulful alt-rock anthems, and their distinct mix of many classic styles of American music
The Revivalists began when Zack met David while riding his bike in a New Orleans neighborhood. David was singing a song on his porch when Zack heard the song, came up to the porch and picked up a guitar. They struck up a musical friendship that day and have been playing ever since—starting with regular jam sessions and moving on to play an average of 150 dates a year at festivals and on tour across the nation.
The hard work paid off when their 2015 platinum-selling single “Wish I Knew You” took off, setting a record for most single-week spins ever at Alternative Radio and becoming a mainstream phenomenon, with nine weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. Their new studio album Take Good Care has added to their more than 410 million total streams.
The bandmates come from very different places both geographically and musically, but the Crescent City ultimately brought them together. Over the years, The Revivalists have raised money for various local groups and causes, such as the Roots of Music, an after-school music and tutoring program for more than 150 local children.
In the fall of 2019, The Revivalists established Rev Causes, a fund that supports the essential work of organizations dedicated to reviving and investing in their communities, health, and our environment.
