Paola Mendoza, JusticeAid’s 2026 Artist in Residence, is offering a free, in-person workshop for the first 75 people to register.
“Dear Andrew” begins with a scenario based on actual events: As you’re walking down the street, you find a wallet. When you pick it up, you discover it belongs to an ICE agent. What do you do?
This interactive event is an exercise in self-reflection and delves into the ideas we hold about anger, blame, revenge, forgiveness, redemption, and justice. Participants will have the opportunity to write their own letter to Andrew, the ICE agent who lives in the imaginations of each individual in the room.
Those who have experienced this workshop with Paola have hailed it as cathartic, soul-searching, and revelatory. Anyone aged 10 and up is invited to attend this special event.

We are all bearing witness to the challenges voters and election officials will face this fall, including recent efforts to scale back mail-in voting, to purge voter rolls, threats to bring ICE agents into polling places, and threats by the Secretary of Homeland Security to investigate and even jail local officials who do not adhere to recent election policy changes.

Dionne ’73, New York Times contributing columnist and Distinguished University Professor in the Foundations of Democracy and Culture at Georgetown University said. “Class Act HR’73 has gathered some of the most thoughtful voices on voting rights and the mechanics of elections to discuss what could happen and what can be done to protect our democracy.”
