Dear JusticeAid Family,

This year, we turn our spotlight to LGBTQ rights, specifically the challenges faced by queer and trans youth, who are too often marginalized, dehumanized, and criminalized.

Following a rigorous review, our Board of Directors selected  SMYAL (Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders)  as our 2022 grantee partner. SMYAL creates opportunities for LGBTQ youth to build self-confidence, develop critical life skills, and engage their peers and community through service and advocacy. Committed to social change, SMYAL builds, sustains, and advocates for programs, policies, and services that LGBTQ youth need as they grow into adulthood. JusticeAid is honored to lift up and support SMYAL this year.

We hope that our 2022 events and communications spark your interest in getting to know SMYAL, supporting its work generously, and advocating for LGBTQ rights in your own community. Please be on the lookout for JusticeAid’s free public forum in partnership with The Riverside Church of New York (May 15)  and the JusticeAid Spring Concert in New York City (May 16).

We’re excited and hope you are too! Help us spread the word. We’ve created sample social media posts that you can use on your own social platforms to let your friends know you are proud that JusticeAid is focusing on LGBTQ Rights this year. Join our social media campaign by using #smyal4justice. Thank you!

JusticeAid believes in the power of art and music to transform awareness into action in the fight against injustice. All donations this year until the end of October will support SMYAL’s programs for LGBTQ youth.

We’re excited to share that JusticeAid has earned a 2022 Platinum Seal of Transparency with Candid!

JusticeAid leverages the community-building power of art and music to transform awareness into action in the fight against injustice. Each year we identify and raise funds for justice causes by hosting music, arts, and educational events. Since 2013 JusticeAid has granted more than 1.5 million dollars to nonprofits working to ensure access to justice for the disenfranchised and marginalized. Our grantee partners are fighting racist voter suppression and racist policing, working to end mass incarceration and inhumane immigration practices, ensuring access to legal services, and addressing the criminalization and hatred of others.
