Exciting Updates!
Our grantee partner, SMYAL, is expanding its services to reach LGBTQ youth across the country by offering a virtual Little SMYALs program each week of the month. SMYAL is also creating a more robust parent and caregiver network for families. This is what your support will make possible.
News from SMYAL:
“Already this year, over 300 bills have been introduced across the country that seek to roll back decades of progress towards justice, equity, and inclusion by targeting LGBTQ youth and the people who support them. SMYAL believes that LGBTQ youth deserve to feel safe, loved, and supported, regardless of their age or what state they live in. As the needs of youth change, our services must evolve to meet the moment.
Founded in 2018, Little SMYALs is still one of the only programs of its kind in the country dedicated to supporting LGBTQ youth as young as 6 years old. That’s why SMYAL is expanding our Little SMYALs program nationally to reach even more young people and their families.”
If you haven’t made a contribution, please consider a gift today to give queer and trans kids safe spaces to explore and celebrate who they are. Thank you!
JusticeAid leverages the community-building power of art and music to transform awareness into action in the fight against injustice. Each year we identify and raise funds for justice causes by hosting music, arts, and educational events. Since 2013 JusticeAid has granted more than 1.5 million dollars to nonprofits working to ensure access to justice for the disenfranchised and marginalized. Our grantee partners are fighting racist voter suppression and racist policing, working to end mass incarceration and inhumane immigration practices, ensuring access to legal services, and addressing the criminalization and hatred of others.
