Please join us at JusticeAid’s Fall Public Forum with Emmy and Peabody award-winning journalist/media creator and LGBTQ activist, Imara Jones, who will set the stage for a discussion with experts on Freedom to Be Queer: Overcoming Marginalization, Criminalization, and Erasure.
The event will take place on Sunday, September 18th, at 4 PM, at New York City’s historic Riverside Church. All are welcome, and the event is free. Kindly RSVP.
Kudos to Rise Up
As LGBTQ youth face unprecedented national, political, and legislative attacks on their identities, those same youth are letting their voices be heard by leading movements for justice, equity, and inclusion.
SMYAL recently convened Rise Up, a 5-day national conference with virtual workshops planned by and for LGBTQ youth covering student rights, youth liberation, accessibility, self-care, and more. Rise Up is one of several programs SMYAL hosts to equip young queer and trans leaders from across the
country with tools to help them advocate for issues that matter to them.
