We just opened the virtual box office so you can get your tickets to this fall’s Washington, DC concert.

An Evening with Kandace Springs, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 7 PM, City Winery, Washington, DC

Be a part of the most enthusiastic justice-supporting, music-loving audience imaginable gathered for a fabulous evening to support LGBTQ rights! All ticket sales and sponsorships will directly benefit JusticeAid’s grantee partner, SMYAL.

The stars aligned to bring back JusticeAid fan-favorite, jazz pianist/vocalist, Kandace Springs. Please spread the word and bring your friends. Your tickets will include hors d’oeuvres, sparkling beverages, and a three-course dinner, wine + beer.

We all know and love someone who identifies as LGBTQ…

but how much do we really know about the issues confronting their community?

Please join us at JusticeAid’s Fall Public Forum with Emmy and Peabody award-winning journalist/media creator and LGBTQ activist, Imara Jones, who will set the stage for a discussion with experts on Freedom to Be Queer: Overcoming Marginalization, Criminalization, and Erasure.

The event will take place on Sunday, September 18th, at 4 PM, at New York City’s historic Riverside Church. All are welcome, and the event is free. Kindly RSVP.

Kudos to Rise Up

As LGBTQ youth face unprecedented national, political, and legislative attacks on their identities, those same youth are letting their voices be heard by leading movements for justice, equity, and inclusion.

SMYAL recently convened Rise Up, a 5-day national conference with virtual workshops planned by and for LGBTQ youth covering student rights, youth liberation, accessibility, self-care, and more. Rise Up is one of several programs SMYAL hosts to equip young queer and trans leaders from across the
country with tools to help them advocate for issues that matter to them.

Please share this email on social media with friends and colleagues who may be interested in joining us at our DC concert or NYC public forum. Thank you!

JusticeAid leverages the community-building power of art and music to transform awareness into action in the fight against injustice. Each year we identify and raise funds for justice causes by hosting music, arts, and educational events. Since 2013 JusticeAid has granted more than 1.7 million dollars to nonprofits working to ensure access to justice for the disenfranchised and marginalized. Our grantee partners are fighting racist voter suppression and racist policing, working to end mass incarceration and inhumane immigration practices, ensuring access to legal services, and addressing the criminalization and hatred of others.
