We are filled with gratitude for the outpouring of support we received last night during our online concert, Voices to Protect the Vote. How compelling to have so many of you join us for such a unique and intimate musical experience! As one of our viewers shared last night:
“Thank you so much to everyone who made this concert happen, and everyone working to ensure that all citizens can exercise their right to vote!”
A special THANK YOU to Rita Houston, Program Director of NYC’s WFUV-90.7, for hosting the event, and to the artists who shared their talents: Paula Cole, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Leyla McCalla, Kandace Springs, David Shaw and Zack Feinberg of The Revivalists, and Paine the Poet.
This production would not have been possible without the utter magic of Natalie Jowett Agoos, Ray Conley, Dave Smith, Danny Melnick, the JusticeAid Board of Directors, the tireless team at Election Protection/866-OUR-VOTE, and others listed in the concert program.
Yes to a Full and Fair Vote!
We are thrilled to announce that we exceeded our fundraising goal of $200,000! Just during the 40-minute show alone, 132 donors contributed $27,000… and that doesn’t count the extraordinary generosity of our donors in advance of the concert. We are humbled and grateful.
But we are not stopping there. We decided to keep our fundraising campaign open, to raise even more funds to help Election Protection fight voter suppression in the age of COVID-19. Every dollar you give today through the end of June will support Election Protection’s get-out-the-vote efforts.
As a gift back from our artists to you, we are re-airing Voices to Protect the Vote on the JusticeAid FaceBook page on May 26th at 8 PM ET. Save the date. We hope you will join us!
