1. Create a short film or social media campaign on justice issues important to you and your community.
Short films (6-8 minutes): What issues do you believe should be addressed by 2020 candidates? Topics like climate change, police brutality, immigration, mass incarceration, racism, voter suppression, gun control, and LGBTQ are just some examples. Your submission should motivate future generations of citizens to engage in national elections.
Social media campaigns (2 minutes in length and must have a “Call to Action” to vote): We challenge you to measurably increase the youth vote in 2020. You are free to use animation, documentary, interviews, and testimonials. Create your video using your favorite social media platform. Make it funny or make it poignant, make it sad or hopeful, but make it count!
BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR WORK, BE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE CIVIL LIFE PROJECT WEBSITE.
2. Submit your film.
The deadline to submit your entries has been extended to August 14, 2020.
3. Watch the winners!
Winning JusticeAid Prize entries will be streamed at the JusticeAid Film Forum on September 13, 2020 featuring the prize winners and other special guests. In addition, selected films will air on JusticeAid’s and Civic Life Project’s social media channels.
