NUMBERS SPEAK.

One in five Gen Z adults identify as LGBTQ — and that number is only expected to go up, according to a Gallup poll released in February of this year.

Why it matters: People who identify as LGBTQ could make up 10 to 15% of the adult population “in the not too distant future” as Gen Z and millennials comprise of an increasing share of the adult population, said Jeff Jones, the author of the Gallup poll.

MUSIC THAT MATTERS WITH PAULA COLE.
Whet your appetite for the return of Paula Cole at JusticeAid’s Spring Concert. Listen to “Blackbird” from Paula’s new album, American Quilt.

GOOD TO KNOW!
We’re learning about International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with its first gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people.

Today, IWD invites us to imagine a gender-equal world—a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. Collectively we can #BreakTheBias.

MEET SMYAL

JusticeAid believes in the power of art and music to transform awareness into action in the fight against injustice. All donations this year until the end of October will support SMYAL’s programs for LGBTQ youth.

We’re excited to share that JusticeAid has earned a 2022 Platinum Seal of Transparency with Candid!

JusticeAid leverages the community-building power of art and music to transform awareness into action in the fight against injustice. Each year we identify and raise funds for justice causes by hosting music, arts, and educational events. Since 2013 JusticeAid has granted more than 1.5 million dollars to nonprofits working to ensure access to justice for the disenfranchised and marginalized. Our grantee partners are fighting racist voter suppression and racist policing, working to end mass incarceration and inhumane immigration practices, ensuring access to legal services, and addressing the criminalization and hatred of others.
