About the Artists

MATTHEW WHITAKER IS MUSIC.

After learning piano at age 3, Matthew Whitaker began teaching himself how to play the Hammond B3 organ at age 9. Four years later, he became the youngest artist to be endorsed by Hammond in its 80+ year history.  He was also named a Yamaha Artist at 15, becoming the youngest musician to join the stellar group of jazz pianists. Since then, he has toured the world, drawing comparisons to Ray Charles and Jimmy McGriff and winning praise for his musical skill, improvisation, and passion for jazz. Now 18, Matthew released his second album “Now Hear This” in August 2019. He joins JusticeAid at our #JusticeAidConcert in support of our work producing fundraising concerts and educational seminars for groups that work to eradicate injustice in our criminal legal system.
